Critical acclaim for Reykjavik Nights in London #1:

“...it was glam demi-gods Trabant who have left me proselytising. Their lead singer is dressed as captain Birdseye, the drummer wore nothing more than a beer belly over some savagely tight black lycra cycling shorts, and then there was the bling bedecked DJ, who proved his rock and roll excess by sticking a live firework sparkler between his teeth. If the onstage charisma doesn't grab you and stick it's tongue down your throat, you'll be drawn in by their mix of euphoric pop, sexy glam rock, tongue in cheek power ballads and quasi-mosh pit anthems. An awesome evening which definitely won a few converts.”

-Clair Whitefield, Critic – musicOMH.com

“The Luminaire, the venue for the evening’s triple-header of wildly different bands that also doubled as a celebration of Iceland’s National Day, is a prestigious location in the relatively sleepy district of Kilburn in North London. They’ve won awards for the quality of their sound and lighting and on every wall are signs urging the audience to keep quiet during the gig; the venue is solely concerned with the quality of the music and performances from Tim Ten Yen, Aela and Trabant all made maximum use of the facilities.

Ending with ‘The One’ and a daring display of firework-related misbehaviour, they left The Luminaire begging for more Trabant, more Aela and more Tim Ten Yen; pure greed but with all three acts producing such wildly different, yet massively entertaining performances, who can blame them for wanting to over indulge on a Sunday.”
-The Reykjavik Grapevine (review appears in the next edition)

“Iceland's answer to the Scissor Sisters headline with their punky and satirical, decidedly experimental twist on electro, which we tipped to do very well last year. There's still time.”
-Time Out

“Trabant’s sexy-raw, electro-soul owes nothing to the expanses of their glacial homeland and more to the infamed nightlife scene that helps Icelanders through the protracted winter months…it should light up London like the Aurora Borealis.”
